List of programs that will break Vista when you install Vista SP1

February 25th, 2008 · No Comments

Microsoft has officially released a compiled list of programs that will break your computer when you install their latest patch, Vista Service Pack 1. These programs range from security applications to news readers. And it applies to all flavours of Windows Vista.

I guess if you have these programs installed in your current Vista, it’s best that you uninstall them first before installing your SP1. This will reduce the headaches of breaking PCs later on.

One of the reasons given for the incompatibility issues was the newer security features that the Vista SP1 will have on top of the current Vista installation. These security rules and policies may interfere with the listed applications’ functions and thus, breaks or malfunctions these programs badly.

Windows Vista Service Pack 1 contains many security, reliability, and feature updates for Windows Vista,” the company said. “A program may experience a loss of functionality after you install Windows Vista SP1. However, most programs will continue to work as expected after you install Windows Vista SP1.
