32GB Secure Digital card by SanDisk

February 1st, 2008 · No Comments

What would you do with a 32GB SD card? If you’d use it for a high MP digital camera, you’d probably need not delete your pictures from your SD card ever again (or maybe for a long long time). Hell, you can even slot it into your latest Asus Eee PC and boost your 4GB machine to a 36GB terror machine.

SanDisk, the top selling flash based memory manufacturers has recently release its whooping 32GB SD card, the SanDisk Ultra II 32GB running at 15Mb/s read and 9Mb/s write speed. The read/write speeds are seen to be 40% faster than their previous models. This is a crucial criteria for the Ultra III 32GB due to its high capacity and thus, a longer time to read/write files from the SD card. However, the high capacity SD card do comes with a hefty price.

According to Dailytech.com,

Pricing on SanDisk’s new offerings start at $100 for the 8GB Ultra II Plus, $180 for the 16GB Ultra II, and $350 for the 32GB Ultra II. The 16GB and 32GB Ultra II SDHC cards also come packaged with a SanDisk MicroMate USB 2.0 Reader, which SanDisk states is a $20 value.

The 32GB SD card will be available in April this year.
