CES: Alienware über cool curved display!

January 10th, 2008 · 2 Comments

When TV/LCD manufacturers are going for thin and wide-screen display, Alienware came out with a sweet looking curved, wide screen display that caught my eye when I first saw it! This thing is amazingly huge and it is probably every gamer’s dream display!

It is capable of going up to a whooping 2800×900 resolution! On top of the super wide resolution, it has a 0.02ms response time! Although gamer’s probably won’t be able to tell the difference between a 2ms and a 0.2ms response time display, it would still capture the hearts of those who yearn for faster response time LCD. The curved display gives the feeling that the LCD is enclosing the viewer, giving you an out of the world gaming experience.

However, I’d give the Alienware curve display one demerit point because of its rather bulky built. Unlike LCDs or other flat-screens, the Alienware display has a back that resembles a massive CRT monitor (although not as bulky).

Despite the bulkiness, it is one hell of an LCD display that will strike the heart of every gamer who is willing to pay the price. Although, he/she might need to find a new table and probably a new place in his/her room to house this ginormous display. You won’t need to wait for long to get the Alienware display. It will be available in the end of Q2 2008. Take a look at the video!

Cool. How much will it cost? Wow, the screen is so wide and weird it might be difficult viewing webpages, playing older games or doing other stuff besides palying games or editing videos :(
