We have seen Microsoft release their new IE7 early this year and Mozilla Firefox releasing their Firefox 2 browser late last last year. Both browsers were bleeding edge technology with a fresh new look. With the release of the new versions came the browser war which is still on-going till this day. Each camp claiming their browser is more superior and secure, citing their own reasons for such claims.
Microsoft IE8 is touted to have reached significant major milestones and is rumoured to be released in the first half of 2008. This is rather surprising, given the fact that IE7 will be having it’s first birthday soon. After a long gap between IE6 and IE7 (five years in-fact), it only takes a little more than a year to jump to IE8?
Meanwhile, Firefox 3 beta users had been greeted with several new features (that is seen as just plug-ins integrated into the browser) which had blown some away and others left skeptical. Even if these new features are integrated plug-ins (which includes a download manager, tab scrolling, etc), they are useful and new features nonetheless. Mozilla Firefox 3 will be slated early next year, tentatively January 22nd 2008.
