How to Burn .ISO files on Ubuntu

September 8th, 2007 · 1 Comment

Unlike some of the previous threads, this is fairly a simple process which is absolutely easy for even beginners. First, you’ll need to choose a program which can burn CDs on Ubuntu. By default, Ubuntu does not come with a CD/DVD burner software. There are a few reputable ones out there (for example, Gnomemaker) but in this tutorial, I’m going to choose k3b. To install k3b is quite a straight forward process. Fire up your command line and type,

xxx@home$> sudo apt-get install k3b

Now, go to Applications -> Sound & Video -> k3b. Insert a blank CD/DVD and start burning your .ISO files!
