Apple launches iPhone

January 12th, 2007 · No Comments

Apple launches their long awaited iPhone at Macworld 2007 and it was one hell of a uber sleek phone, which is always the trademark of Apple products. Steve Jobs touted that the iPhone is a revolutionary phone that is going to change industrial standards. What are changes that he was talking about, you might ask. Sleek and streamlined software interface that not only looks cool but also performs lightning fast. Sleek phone design that catches the eyes of every user. Out with the keypad designed phone and in with the touch screen designs. Well, the new iPhone looks extremely cool and this is the same feeling that the geeks had when Apple first launched their 4th generation iPod series. Let’s dig deeper and see what makes up this new iPhone.

Keypad-less design with sleek interface

The first thing that striked me most when I set my eyes upon the phone, was it’s huge 3.5 inch LCD screen which took almost every inch on the phone. Then it was the crystal clear resolution that made my eyes gleamed. A stunning 160 dpi resolution density, which makes it the sharpest handphone LCD today. The iPhone contained no keypad or joystick. Its nevigations are all controlled by touching the screen using its newest patented touch-screen technology. Uber cool yeah? You can navigate the phone by using a virtual “smart keyboard” the can detect accidental taps. The touch-screen technology can also recognize movements that mimics the actions made by a PC mouse like stretching, pinching, zooming in and out and scrolling motions. Though this LCD was thought to be implemented in the next generation iPod, it seems that it’ll debut in the first iPhone launched by Apple.

Onto the software side, it is amazing to see how fast everything loads from switching screens to launching browsers and to even open photo galleries. It’s light interface would mean mean the days of laggy phones are soon going to be over. And even though the interface is light, it is definitely far from boring or ugly. If you love the sleek Mac OS X interface, you are going to love the iPhone’s interface. Another cool feature that this phone has is the auto change of the phone’s interface orientation. The orientation of the phone changes if the phone is tilted horizontally or vertically. Damn cool huh? Web browsing is screaming fast too and it’s web browsers support full HTML which you cannot get in many phones these days.
This phone has everything the smart phones of today have. Smart text, e-mails, video recording, camera, address book and many more. The iPhone can also serve as the next generation iPod. It syncronizes with iTunes and you can create playlists and even add album artworks to your songs. Simply a “one of the must have gadget” for the year!
