“Merom” (Intels codename for it’s newest laptop processor) is said to be shipped with the next generation of iMacs. Merom boasts 2 cores, using Intel’s newest and fastest Core 2 Duos. Apple insiders said that these new 23-inch iMacs will come out in this coming September and it’ll be largest iMacs ever.
Why go for Merom instead of it’s desktop cousin, the Conroe? Well, apple analysts said that compared to Conroe, Merom, and the upcoming Woodcrest boast less power consumption and thermal build-up, thus more suitable for the next generation iMacs. Well, Apple fans have to wait patiently for the new sleek iMacs. And this time the iMacs will be able to dual boot OS X and Windows. (if they even need Windows that is)
